Basic Problems of Conveyor Transport

05.09.2022
Belt transport is one example of a silent, forgotten revolution. We live in times of automation of production processes, in which the transport of raw materials and products takes place with the use of various types of conveyor belts. However, even 100 years ago the situation was quite different. Manufacturing processes relied heavily on human labor. It was not until 1913 that a revolution came when Henry Ford introduced conveyor belts for general use in the production process.

Since then, the development of conveyor technology has been taking place imperceptibly but continuously, behind the scenes of successive industrial revolutions. A special place on the map of this development is the Scientific School of prof. Tadeusz Żur Basic Problems of Conveyor Transport, organized periodically by the Department of Machine Systems at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology of the Wrocław University of Technology since 1978. The purpose of the meetings is to exchange experiences regarding conveyor belts and knowledge in the field of broadly understood belt transport. INTERkrąż representatives also regularly join the group of conference participants to discuss, look for new ideas and develop products.

This year, the conference will be held on September 21-23 in Kudowa-Zdrój. After a long COVID break, we are especially hungry for new challenges.

We are convinced that this year's School will be, as always, an opportunity to search for new solutions, develop new products and exchange experiences at work, which connects us all on a daily basis.
